PADI Speciality Diving

PADI Specialty Diving courses give you an opportunity to pursue areas of interest in more detail, giving you a greater knowledge, confidence and more diving experience in your chosen field.
Some specialties require an Advanced Open Water or Adventure Diver certification, others can begin straight after your PADI Open Water course.

Five specialities together with the Rescue Diver Certification results in a Master Scuba Diver Rating: the highest non-professional PADI Certifcation

PADI Speciality & Advanced Open Water & Adventure Dives

Adventures dives (
dive with a theme) can be carried out in any of the Speciality Diver Courses mentioned below. Each individual adventure dive count as the introduction dive of the relative Speciality (i.e first dive of that speciality) and towards the Advanced Open Water Certification

Dives: 2
On a dive around Koh Tao you can see hundreds of fish. This two dive specialty is aimed at helping you identify fish by their shape and colours. A greater awareness of fish identification will help you learn more from others about the underwater environment and is the beginning of a fascination with fish behaviour. Combines well with Photographer and Project Aware specialties.

Deep Diving

4 / 3*
The PADI Deep diver specialty takes you through four deep dives teaching you the techniques required for planning and conducting deep dives safely. Try it out and feel the narcosis at depths down to 40 meters!

Diver Propulsion Vehicle (DPV)

Dives: 2
Cruise around pinnacles like James Bond! This two-dive specialty will teach you how to use and maintain a DPV, a battery powered propulsion vehicle for divers. Save energy in strong currents and cruise the pinnacles effortlessly. Useful knowledge for more serious tech diving, the DPV specialty is also a lot of fun to learn. Combines well with the Enriched Air specialty.

Equipment Specialist

The equipment specialty gives you a basic knowledge of equipment maintenance and repair. During this day long course you will take a closer look at maintaining and basic problem solving for masks, fins, regualtors, BCDs and tanks. Extremely practical and useful knowledge for enthusiastic divers.

Enriched Air (Nitrox) Diving

Want to stay under water longer? Then think of going Nitrox. Learn to use gas blends using enriched air and get those extra minutes under water.

Multilevel & Computer Diving

Get to spend more time on dive sites with this two dive introduction to multilevel and computer diving. You'll learn to use the PADI ErPDML a dive planning computer that allows you to vary your depths during a dive extending your no-decompression limits, plus receive explanations of how to dive with dive computers, a popular and safe way of keeping track of your dive profiles.

Night Diver

Dives 3
Diving at night is an exciting experience. The barracudas around White Rock have learnt to use your torches to hunt, snatching small fish from your torch light. Through three dives on the Night Diver specialty we will take a closer look at nocturnal marine life behaviour and navigate at night to the stage where you can lead your own night dives.

Peak Performance Buyouncy (PPB)

One of the greatest thrills of diving is just hovering mid-water in a school of barracuda. No stress, effortless, using as little air as possible. This comes from good buoyancy control. This two-dive specialty will focus on correct weighting using your lungs correctly to control your buoyancy.
Save air and energy and develop a more relaxed, controlled diving technique. Great to combine with other specialties where buoyancy is essential, such as Photographer, or with an Open Water course to build greater confidence.

Search & Recovery

Dives: 4
Four dive program taking you through various search patterns, improving your navigation techniques and teaching you how to find different objects in different conditions. We will also show you how to effectively use lift devices allowing you to safely bring heavy objects back to the surface.

Rescue and Divemaster courses.
